Season 2027 · Sunday Juniors (U10–Opens)
Season Command Centre
One place to run the whole SJRU Sunday draw — from club nominations and gala-day grading through to the published Rugby Xplorer draw.
Teams per age group
Registered Sunday-competition teams, 2026 baseline data
Grade structure by age group
How many teams sit in each grade — grading keeps kids playing at the right level
Why GenRugby
The problems this platform removes from the current spreadsheet → legacy tool → Rugby Xplorer pipeline
⚙️ One-click draw generation
13 rounds across 39 grade competitions with home/away balance, club home-day clustering and venue clash detection — generated in seconds, not weeks.
🔁 Regrade without chaos
After Round 3, move teams between grades and the draw order holds — vacated slots become byes, incoming teams inherit them. No re-draws mid-season.
📤 RX-ready exports
One correctly-formatted upload file per competition, with exact team names, venue IDs, and hh:mm AM/PM times — matched to the Rugby Xplorer draw import template.
Season setup · Step 1
Clubs & Teams
Every club, their home ground and their nominated teams. Loaded from the SJRU registration export — in production this imports straight from a spreadsheet or Rugby Xplorer registration report.
Season setup · Step 2
Grounds & Availability
The ground location bank. Before the season, each club declares when their home ground is available — Sunday hours, Friday nights, and dates lost to community events. The generator treats these windows as hard constraints.
🏟️Capacity is computed live from each ground's windows and the age-group game durations — e.g. an 8-hour Sunday fits ~8 games with U10 through Opens mixed in. Grounds with Friday nights absorb overflow automatically.

Competition Builder
Every competition is a template: sport, age groups, grades, rounds, game durations, grading model and export format. Define once, generate forever — and point the exporter at whatever the public-facing system needs.

Rules & export
Fixture rules and where the data ends up
🧩The exporter is a column-mapping layer: the same generated draw can feed Rugby Xplorer today and any other platform (or an API) tomorrow — one draw, many outputs.
Season setup · Step 3
Gala Day Grading
Clubs nominate a starting grade at the gala day. GenRugby schedules the gala (3 short games per team), takes the results in, and suggests final grades — the admin always has the last word.
Results import = RX results report upload, or manual entry
AI advisory rules
You set the thresholds — the AI applies them to gala results and explains every suggestion. It advises; the admin decides.
Grade board —
Move teams with the arrows. Suggested moves from gala results are outlined in blue with the reasoning below each team.
Draw · Step 4
Draw Generator
Set the season shape and the rules, then let the engine build all 39 grade competitions at once. Hard rules are never broken; soft rules are optimised with the weights you set.
Season shape
13 regular rounds, then semis & finals (15 total)
📍Kick-off windows now come from each ground's availability (Step 2) — the scheduler packs games back-to-back with real durations instead of fixed hourly slots.
Draw rules
Admin-editable logic — add or re-weight rules as the competition evolves, no code required
Draw · Step 5
Draw Explorer
The full generated season. Browse by round, competition, club or venue — exactly what parents and managers will see once it's published through Rugby Xplorer.
📅
No draw yet — run the Draw Generator first.
Draw · Intelligence
AI Insights
What the engine noticed while building the draw — the good stuff worth telling clubs about, the risks worth a second look, and every conflict it quietly resolved for you.
💡
Generate a draw first — insights are computed as the engine works.
Draw · Step 6 · After Round 3
Mid-season Regrade
Rounds 1–3 are played. Move teams up or down — the published draw structure stays exactly as planned: a departing team's slot becomes a bye, and an incoming team inherits a vacant slot. Home venues travel with the team.
🔁
Generate a draw first, then come back after "Round 3" to regrade.
Publish · Step 7
Rugby Xplorer Export
RX imports one competition at a time, so GenRugby generates one upload-ready file per grade competition — exact team names, RX venue IDs, hh:mm AM/PM times, and byes formatted the way the importer expects.
📤
Generate a draw first — then every competition shows up here ready to download.
